WolfVision Visualizer Wins Two Prestigious Design Awards
Due to its outstanding and innovative design, our VZ-9plus³ Visualizer has been honoured by two of the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world.
In the Red Dot Award category product design 2010, which attracted record submissions of more than 4,000 products from 57 countries, the jury awarded the highly coveted design seal of quality to only 45 of the submitted products. The VZ-9plus³ Visualizer is one of the 45 products presented with the Red Dot "Best of the Best" Award for a pioneering design. The WolfVision Visualizer ranks alongside Apple's iPad, the SLS-AMG from Mercedes Benz and the Rolls Royce Ghost, all of which were also marked with this very special accolade.
The VZ-9plus³ Visualizer is renowned as the top of the line unit amongst WolfVision's portable range of desktop Visualizers. With its high resolution 1-CCD camera, integrated LCD preview monitor and synchronized laser markers, the unit sets new standards in its category.
A few months ago the VZ-9plus³ Visualizer was also honoured with the "Good Design Award" in Japan. With these distinctions the unit has now been marked with two of the three most important industrial awards in the world. The European Red Dot "Best of the Best" is of the highest level, and the Japanese "Good Design Award" is almost of equal value.
Lutron's Big Day
The press releases don't do justice to last week's smallish luncheon presentation in a paneled room on the first floor of the Smithsonian's Museum of American History here in Washington, D.C. I went not knowing what to expect and left (had to eat and run) thoroughly impressed that lighting control pioneer Lutron had just become part of history.
From the Lutron press release, just so you have the facts:
"In a special donation ceremony, Joel Spira, inventor and developer of the solid-state electronic 'dimming device' and chairman and founder of Pennsylvania-based Lutron Electronics, will donate materials related to the company's 50-year history to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
The donation includes an early version of the original solid-state (devices using transistors) Capri dimmer manufactured by Lutron in September 1964. Also part of the donation is a retail display featuring the fully functional dimmer and other Lutron dimmers and lighting-control systems that show lighting-control developments at the company over the past 50 years...
'I am pleased to donate these artifacts to the museum,' said Spira. 'For the past 50 years, the solid-state dimmer has made homes more beautiful and offices more efficient-all while saving energy and increasing lamp life. It is an honor for me to be in the company of Edison and others in this collection. I am truly humbled.'"

Stewart Ranked #1 in Overall Supplier Loyalty for the 12th Consecutive Year
The results of this year's Supplier Loyalty Survey from inside track are in, and once again Stewart Filmscreen is ranked #1 in Overall Supplier Loyalty among Home Video/Screen companies.
Stewart Filmscreen's products and organization has now captured 1st place Overall in the H.V./Screen group of the inside track survey for 12 consecutive years. Stewart took ten parameter first places this year (including the Product Triple Crown) plus five-second places. Stewart improved year over year on 13/16 parameters and dropped only minimally on the remaining three parameters.
Said inside track Editor, Gisela Schoell, "Once again, and this time during a most challenging year, vendors in the inside track survey competed in what amounts to 16 'races.' You do not reach the Overall winner's podium in this survey by concentrating on just a few parameters like, for example, product performance, reliability, and innovation. This survey requires even more from vendors, because what is measured is the totality of the vendor/dealer partnership -- and it is the dealers who are the judges. Coming out on top Overall once is a tremendous achievement. Coming out on top for 12 years running, as Stewart Filmscreen has done, means that this company is an exemplary vendor partner to its dealers."
Year after year, dealers respond to Stewart's outstanding products and once again they have given them the top spot for Product Reliability, Product Performance and Product Innovation along with another first place for Appropriate Assortment. Moreover, based on inside track's strict and precise grading structure, Stewart leaves the competition in the dust when it comes to Customer Service with top rankings in Technical Support, Brand Name Recognition, Distribution Policies, Price Protection, Dealer Training and Quality of Sales Reps.

DSE 2010 Apex Gold Award - Transportation: The Port Authority of NY & NJ
The Port Authority of NY & NJ recently deployed hundreds of digital signage players throughout its AirTrain monorail system that travels between the terminals, rental car facility, long term parking, and the train and subway systems at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The company uses Carousel by Tightrope Media Systems to deliver information to passengers about which train is going to which terminal, the route it is taking, which doors are opening, when the train will be arriving and more. Additionally, interactive kiosks powered by Carousel were installed at key locations to guide passengers to their ultimate destinations.
